Scavenger hunt

Everybody likes a good birthday party. There’s cake, presents, laughing people and –if you’re lucky- there’s a BBQ and some good music as well. But what do you do when you’re a national television/radio station and you just turned 51 (besides being happy that you survived your 50th birthday)?

You organize a nation-wide weekend-long scavenger hunt in which people can win great prizes... and this is exactly what TeleCuracao is doing in the weekend of July 30-31.

The idea is that people participate in groups of max. 1 car / 4 people, are given a ‘road map’ with clues to follow and then scavenge the Island for more clues. Besides the clues on the road map they will also need to listen to TeleCuracao FM (FM 93.3) for more clues to finish the hunt.

People at home will also be able to participate with their phone and text messages by watching the tv station on TDS channel 8 (and listening to the radio of course).

TeleCuracao is really going all-out with this hunt. The promotion behind the event is amazing and the prizes even more so. Some of the prizes you can win if you participate (by the participants to the hunt AND the people who call/text in):
  • 4 Tickets to the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival, plus cash
  • New car
  • Smartphones
  • Dinner vouchers
  • Etcetera, etcetera
If you want to enter, this is what you need to know (you know, the boring stuff):
  • Registration starts on July 25 at 4 PM and lasts till July 29 (registering can only be done during office hours)
  • If you’re one of those people who doesn’t plan ahead, there’s an extra last-minute registration window between July 30 between 9 AM and 11 AM.
  • The scavenger hunt starts on July 30 at 2 PM (be there at 1 PM!!). If you’re late to the starting line, you’re disqualified.
  • The first day ends 5 PM and if you’re not in by 6 PM you’re disqualified.
  • The second day (July 31) you start at 10 AM (be there at 9 AM!!) and ends at 1 PM.
  • The fee to enter is Nafl 93.30 per car (yeah, I know, weird price) so that’s less than $ 15 per contestant if there’s 4 people in your car...
